AttenuRad Thyroid Shields provide maximum protection to the radio-sensitive thyroid gland when positioned over the laryngeal protuberance. To ensure proper positioning, a curved notch in the center of the shield is placed at the top of the sternum. Adhesive on the back of the shield holds the shield firmly. Lateral bow ties are also attached to the interior flaps of the shield to protect patients with larger necks or larger thyroid glands that extend behind the clavicle or sternum. This shield, when used for the soft tissues of the neck, is cut to a thickness of 4-ply, allowing a 60% dose savings to the thyroid. 10/pk. Single-use.
