For orthopedics and sports medicine, choose the 60-lb gauge. For weak or damaged hands, (arthritis, neurological problems) use the 10-lb model. For standard assessment, use 30-lb. model.
Annual calibration is recommended, and required for measuring instruments used at facilities accepting Medicare reimbursement (42 CFR 410.33) more often if used daily, in research, or if dropped.
